Flexjet Adds The Gulfstream G500 To Its Fractional Fleet
Flexjet has entered into an agreement with Gulfstream granting it exclusive rights as the only fractional provider to receive new Gulfstream G500 and G700 aircraft. The first G500 has just been added, while the first G700s were added in 2025.
The G500 will begin replacing the G450 as Flexjet's flagship large-cabin jet, adding fuel efficiency and range to that segment of the fleet. The modernized G500 is 33% more fuel-efficient than the G450 and able to fly nearly 1,000 nautical miles farther on the same amount of fuel.

A Relationship With History
The current agreement is best understood against the backdrop of a relationship that began more than a decade ago. Flexjet Chairman Kenn Ricci, a Gulfstream pilot, first placed a large order for new Gulfstream aircraft in 2014, this was shortly after his company Directional Aviation had acquired Flexjet from Bombardier.
The Gulfstream G500
The G500 can travel approximately 5,200 nautical miles, or about 10 hours of flight time, and has a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90 (getting close to the speed of sound).
The Flexjet G500s are configured with seating for up to 15 passengers and 1 cabin server, and for overnight flights can be configured with beds for 6 people. At 41,000 feet, the cabin altitude is equivalent to just 3,255 feet, which enhances overall comfort, particularly on long flights.

Flexjet Red Label
These new G500s’ will operate as part of Flexjet’s Red Label program, delivering high levels of personalization and service. Red Label provides access to a modern fractional jet fleet, unique artisan interiors making up the LXi Cabin Collection and flight crews assigned to a single, specific aircraft/tail number. These crews include Flexjet Cabin Servers who have undergone advanced training at Flexjet’s Red Label Academy outside of London. More recently, Red Label has evolved to include curated moments beyond the aircraft cabin, including the FXLUXE Travel Guides and Chairman’s Club destination experiences available on a gratis basis to Flexjet’s Red Label aircraft owners.
