Solairus Aviation Continues Fleet Growth
Solairus, a leading aircraft management and charter services provider, has grown its managed fleet to over 350 aircraft, adding multiple new jets in 2025.
Company Background
Founded in 2009 by industry veteran Dan Drohan, and headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, Solairus was established to provide aircraft owners with safe, reliable, and efficient management and operation of their assets. The company focused on building a foundation of operational rigor and personalized client service.
Solairus has subsequently grown to over 75 base locations nationwide, employing more than 2,300 flight crew and support professionals. The company has earned the highest level of industry safety accreditations, holding IS-BAO Stage Three, ARG/US Platinum, and Wyvern Wingman ratings.
Fleet Composition
Of the roughly 50 new aircraft added in 2025, a substantial 36 are ultra-long-range or large cabin jets operating from key markets including Boston, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Palm Beach. Notable additions include a Gulfstream G800, a Global 7500, and multiple Gulfstream G700 and G650ER aircraft. This increase in larger, longer-range aircraft reflects macro trends in the private aviation sector, where demand for long-range capabilities - often used for transcontinental or intercontinental travel - has continued to rise. The additions also include super mid-size jets, light jets, helicopters, and turboprops.
"The foundation of our growth has always been quality, not quantity," said Dan Drohan, Founder and CEO of Solairus. "Each new aircraft represents the confidence our clients place in the Solairus team. The trust we've earned from aircraft owners, their families, and their flight departments allows us to grow responsibly and sustainably. Ultimately, our success is defined not by how many aircraft we manage, but by how well we serve each one."
Management Services
For aircraft owners, the decision to select a management firm is often driven by the need for operational expertise that alleviates the logistical burdens of ownership, while ensuring the highest standards of safety and service.
Solairus offers a full management service covering maintenance, flight operations and coordination, accounting, regulatory compliance and more. If requested, they will also customize a charter plan to offset some of the costs of ownership through charter, balancing aircraft availability requirements with a desired charter revenue target. As part of their charter revenue generation program, they provide a jet card type offering called Altitude by Solairus which they refer to as a private jet charter club.
This overall strategy appears to have resonated amongst both high-net-worth individuals and corporate flight departments.
