NetJets Pauses New Jet Card And Short Lease Sales
NetJets, the largest private aviation company, has paused all new sales of its 25-hour jet cards and its 25-hour per year leases, noting record-high retention rates and market demand for its fractional shares. Current holders of cards and leases can renew these products.
Ongoing Fractional Growth
NetJets has seen tremendous growth over the last 6 years. It has grown its fractional jet fleet by over 350 net new aircraft over this period and expects to add 80 new jets in 2026. Recent new aircraft additions include Praetor 500s, Citation Ascends and Global 8000s and other aircraft across all cabin sizes.
As an example of the recent growth, in the first 6 months of 2026 NetJets saw flight numbers grow 11.8%, compared to the same period in 2025.

NetJets Comments
In a statement to SherpaReport, NetJets said:
We continue to see record-high retention rates, alongside increased Owner and market demand. Our aim every day is to provide exceptional travel experiences with the level of safety and service that only NetJets can deliver. To focus on our core business of shared ownership and ensure that we do not compromise service delivery to existing card, lease and share Owners, we continue to take a disciplined approach to our sales. Our focus has never been merely pursuing growth, but rather to do so in a way in which we never compromise our service standards. As the worldwide leader in private aviation, NetJets continues to refine and elevate our premier programs. Exceptional travel looks different for every Owner, and we encourage Owners to work with our dedicated Sales Team to find the program that best suits their needs.
Card Renewals
NetJets also confirmed that current card holders can renew, saying “Existing card Owners will have the opportunity to purchase a renewal card, and existing 25-hour lease Owners will have the option to either start another 25-hour lease or purchase a 25-hour card.”
Cards Paused Before, During COVID
NetJets also paused jet card sales in 2021, citing “today’s unprecedented flight demand”, which was driven by all the new customers flying privately during the COVID pandemic. Then in the middle of 2022 the company introduced a new 25-hour-per-year, three-year lease and restarted jet card sales towards the end of 2022, albeit with more restrictions on usage around peak day travel.
With no jet cards on offer from NetJets at the moment, this creates opportunities for other card providers. SherpaReport members can use the comparison data to look at alternatives or let us know if they need help comparing alternatives.
