Jet OUT Expands Fleet, Locations & Programs
Jet OUT, the co-ownership fractional jet provider, has been adding to its base locations and also bringing new aircraft into its fleet. SherpaReport sat down with CEO Joseph Crivello and his team to discuss the growth, the business model, the customer base and new initiatives.
Jet OUT Business Model
Jet OUT offers co-ownership and co-lease programs in Citation CJ4 Gen 2 light jets. It bases its fleet at each location, unlike larger fractional aircraft providers, which operate floating fleets without a home base.
While the Jet OUT planes may fly all over the country, the usage model is designed to incentivize the aircraft to return to their base each day. “Typically, the airplanes depart in the morning and they're back in base by the end of the day,” says Joseph Crivello, adding, “by doing that, it allows us to essentially reset the fleet every single day, almost like an airline.”
He gives examples of some typical daily usage patterns noting that “oftentimes, the airplane will have an occupied leg in the morning, and then reposition and pick up another client.” So, at the end of the day, it is back at its base, having completed two occupied legs. An alternative daily profile is a simple “out and back”, where the aircraft owner is attending a meeting during the day and then returns with the aircraft.
Joseph says that the geographical certainty about where the airplanes will be, allows Jet Out to invest more locally in each base. He gives the example of investing in full-time mechanics and having a mechanic on standby for all departures from each base.
“These are all benefits that local aircraft managers and corporate flight departments were able to accrue in the past, but now we've taken those benefits and we folded them into a national programmatic offering,” says Joseph, summing up the structure.
Customer Base & Generational Shifts
“The market that we cater to is very entrepreneurial, very mid-market focused,” comments Joseph Crivello, and continues, “we're seeing a lot of 40-something successful entrepreneurs, adopting private aviation, that's certainly a new phenomenon.”
Looking at post-pandemic growth, Jet OUT has seen these new consumers who entered the private aviation market continue to fly privately. “I think it's unlikely they will go back to the airlines,” says Joseph, noting “we've retained 97% of our clients since 2018.” He also puts part of this down to people seeking a consistent national experience and being more focused on quality than they were in the past.
Another driver of this growth is the generational shift and the transfer of wealth that's taking place, with Joseph emphasizing “the transfer of wealth is significant.”
As a further factor, Joseph simply says, “I think consumers are just getting smarter.” He expanded on this, adding that maybe they have friends who have had a bad experience with whole ownership, or even that they have learned a lesson themselves. Commenting further, “and now, I think that many of those consumers are finding that the programmatic options are better.”
New Base Location
The Milwaukee-based private aviation company has opened its latest base in Dallas-Fort Worth, the fourth of its regional locations. The other three bases are in Milwaukee, Scottsdale, and Fort Lauderdale, so coverage extends across the Upper Midwest, South Florida, and the Southwest.
The company plans to have two factory-new Citation CJ4 Gen2 light jets and a full complement of pilots, maintenance experts, and sales staff at the new base by the end of this year.

Fleet Additions
The Jet OUT fleet currently consists of eight CJ4s, with each aircraft flying roughly 1,000 hours per year. A typical amount for an efficient fleet operator.
The company plans to add three more airplanes by the end of the year, with two of them headed to the new Dallas-Fort Worth base. Next year, another six firm orders will be delivered into the fleet, bringing the fleet to 17 CJ4s by the end of 2026.
“Jet OUT continues to scale its fleet and network of bases in tandem,” comments Joseph Crivello.
Predictive Maintenance Insights
Jet OUT is implementing an initiative to gather real-time maintenance insights from its Citation CJ4 Gen 2 fleet. Under this program, Jet OUT streams aircraft health and performance data to its in-house maintenance team and OEM support teams every 30 minutes.
The onboard AReS (Aircraft Recording System) captures more than 12,000 parameters at 80 samples per second, producing one of the industry's most detailed data sets. Every 30 minutes, Jet OUT’s maintenance, technology, and support teams translate this data into a near real-time fleet snapshot, enabling faster diagnostics, quicker parts response, and more informed decision-making across the CJ4 platform.
The data from 8,000+ CJ4 fleet hours in 2025, combined with OEM technical expertise, should deliver predictive reliability, faster proactive issue resolution, and actionable insights, resulting in enhanced efficiency and dispatch performance.
“Given the scale of Jet OUT’s fleet and the comprehensive detail captured by the AReS system, we can deliver operational insights at an unmatched frequency and depth,” said Matt Wild, COO of Jet OUT. “We’re transforming these insights into predictive tools that enhance reliability and efficiency throughout the Citation CJ4 community.”
Joseph Crivello described it as a collaboration with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) who bring essential technical expertise to make the program successful. And noting that AI technologies can find trends in the extremely detailed data now available from these airplanes.

Mission Complete
Another new initiative is the introduction of Jet OUT “Mission Complete”, in collaboration with Charter Flight Support and Falcon MGA insurance, both of which are part of Aviation Innovation Holdings.
In the event of unforeseen disruptions, such as mechanical issues or pilot illness, Jet OUT swiftly arranges alternative aircraft or crew at no additional cost, ensuring passengers continue their journey aboard an aircraft meeting the standards of the CJ4 Gen 2 experience. This initiative applies to passengers traveling via Jet OUT’s co-ownership, co-lease, or charter programs. The commitment extends across all Jet OUT bases, including Milwaukee, Scottsdale, Fort Lauderdale, and the new Dallas-Fort Worth location.
“Jet OUT Mission Complete highlights our unwavering dedication to reliability and client satisfaction,” said Gordon Cameron, vice president of revenue of Jet OUT. “It embodies our core values of transparency, trust, and proactive support, providing clients absolute peace of mind.”
Joseph Crivello adds, “it’s an insurance policy that is held by Jet OUT, that will allow us to stand behind every single trip reservation that is made on our fleet, no matter what happens.” Charter Flight Support steps in seamlessly, behind the scenes, to source backup aircraft, ensuring that even in the event of unforeseen circumstances, passenger journeys continue smoothly.
Empty Legs for Owners
Jet OUT recently launched its empty legs portal, giving owners the exclusive ability to instantly reserve repositioned flights across the network. The flight listings are publicly viewable, but booking on the portal is reserved for Jet OUT owners, reinforcing Jet OUT’s owner-first philosophy. The portal is backed by Jet OUT’s 20-person concierge and dispatch team, ensuring every empty leg receives the same care as a scheduled trip.
“Empty legs have always been a hidden benefit in private aviation,” said Joseph Crivello. “By making them digital, transparent, and instantly bookable for our owners, we’re turning unused capacity into real savings.” He further adds, “because we don't float our fleets, we know where every empty leg is going to be, potentially months in advance, right to the date and time with certainty.”
Jet OUT will also introduce a digital broker feed that provides selected industry partners with access to exclusive, premium inventory options, including the ability to view availability, access pricing, and offer bookings. When these trips are sold to third parties, the revenue from the trip is shared with the aircraft owners.
Lifestyle Offerings
The newly launched Jet OUT partnerships program offers access to lifestyle, hospitality, and travel partners, delivering benefits at every stage of the owner journey. Partners include luxury retreats, offering villas and enclaves around the world, to private wellness escapes, championship golf, vineyard experiences, bespoke craftsmanship, and yachting adventures.
As private aviation companies grow, they often provide high-end lifestyle partnerships like these to add value for their owners and members.
