SherpaReport's Overall Philosophy
SherpaReport LLC ("SherpaReport") is committed to protecting our users' privacy. This statement is meant to inform our users of how we define, gather and use personally identifiable information. SherpaReport will take reasonable steps to protect user privacy consistent with the guidelines set forth in this policy and the applicable laws.

Anonymous Information
Cookies:
A cookie is a small file, stored on your hard drive, that is used to track your visits. SherpaReport uses both persistent and session cookies. A persistent cookie remains on a user's hard drive for authentication purposes, while a session cookie is temporary file and is only used to track a given visit. SherpaReport uses persistent cookies to link visitors to their registration information that allows our system to confirm a user's identity and access level on the site. SherpaReport also uses that information to track service selections, and save passwords to eliminate logging in each time a user visits the site.

You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it. (However, by not accepting cookies, some of our web pages may not display properly or you may not be permitted to access certain information.)

SherpaReport automatically receives and records information from our servers and from your browser, including your IP address, the time, and information about the page you requested. We use these tracking technologies for a variety of purposes, including:

  • Keeping count of return visits to our site or sites
  • Accumulating and reporting anonymous, aggregate, statistical information on web site and content usage to our partners and customers
  • Determining which features visitors like best to help us improve our content and site, personalize your user experience, and measure overall site effectiveness
  • Saving your password so you don't have to re-enter it each time you visit our sites

Personal Information Collected
SherpaReport collects personal information supplied by visitors who register. That information lets us better tailor our content to visitor interests and helps our advertisers better understand the audience they are reaching. Most of SherpaReport is free and is supported by paid content and sponsorships from our advertisers.

Sharing Information
We may provide summary reports to the companies that advertize with us and that put information into our databases. The type of information included in a summary report is "1,000 people looked at your information this month, and of those people 70% clicked through to read the full information." The companies that put content into the database need this information to determine how effective their content is. We don't tell these companies specifically who it was that saw or clicked on their content unless you have specifically told us this is acceptable.

SherpaReport discloses aggregated user statistics (for example, 25% of our users are interested in Properties in the North East) in order to describe our services to prospective partners, and other third parties, and for other lawful purposes.

SherpaReport may share personal information collected when a visitor registers or logs in to access content. The advertiser or sponsors use of that personal information is governed by their privacy policy and may be used for follow up by telephone, email or other common methods. You should contact these companies directly if you have any questions about their use of this information.

SherpaReport does not share any of your personally identifiable information with any person or entity, unless you register to access specific content or if you register for our Newsletters.

Registration Password
Your Personal Information is password-protected to control access to this personal information. We recommend that you do not divulge your password to anyone. SherpaReport never asks for passwords in unsolicited phone calls or unsolicited emails. Remember to sign out and close your browser window when you have finished. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information if you share a computer with someone else, or are using a computer in a public place such as a library.

Opting Out
SherpaReport will only use your personal information for the purposes listed above or subsequently authorized by you. Please contact us at privacy (at) SherpaReport.com if you discover that your personal information is being used in a way that is incompatible with these purposes or if you want your Subscriber Information deleted from the SherpaReport database. Personal information provided to us by you is, however, subject to disclosure pursuant to any applicable laws.
