And, Sky View's direct ski-in and ski-out access affords you the luxury of stepping out your door and right onto the slopes.

After a long day of outdoor activity—whether skiing, hiking, biking or strolling The Village—the rooftop hot tub is a great place to relax and enjoy the mountain peaks scenery before sunset. In the evening, gather with family and friends at the firepit taking in the fresh mountain air and sharing stories about the day's explorations.

Overall this 3,300 sq ft homes has 4 bedrooms, 3 and a half bathrooms and sleeps 10, so there's lots of room for friends and family.

Summer in Copper

We just returned from a mini family reunion for 4 days in Copper from 8/14 - 8/18. We had 6 adults and 5 kids staying at the home, but did not feel on top of each other. The layout of the home is able to handle a group of this size with everyone in a bed or the pullout couch on the lower level. The elevator was great for my 70 year old parents who would have been winded going up and down the stairs. The house is beautifully appointed and is nicely situated on a quiet street with an unbeatable view from the master bedroom. While we were there in the summer, the ski lift is right out the door which makes this a great winter option. The concierge, Neeve, is great. She checked in with me everyday. She helped me both set up and cancel activities as our weather was unseasonably cold. Copper village is bigger than I thought. There has been a considerable amount of development since I was there 15 years ago. There are a couple of good restaurants and fun activities for the kids. Vail and Breckenridge are also easy drives - 20 minutes for either one - as we went exploring both towns. The Lincoln Navigator in the garage is such a nice addition to the Lusso offering.

The new Copper Mountain home is spacious, and with every necessary luxury, including steam shower, hot tub, fully appointed kitchen, elevator (for the luggage, of course!) and a new Lincoln Navigator in the garage.

Three of the four bedrooms have king beds, the last with two double beds. A media room, sharing the lower level with two bedrooms and baths, is complete with surround sound, wet bar and plenty of seating (including a sleeper sofa). The master bedroom is on the next level and offers a huge wall of windows looking toward the SKY range, as well as access to a deck with views of the ski slopes through a bank of pine trees. Hand scraped walnut floors enhanced this level and all but the lower floor, and large hewn beams and woodwork on the vaulted ceilings add to the rustic, yet elegant, mountain feel.

As the home is a split-level design, the next level contains the living, dining and kitchen. Dark stone countertops, Wolf appliances and plenty of work space for a crowd made the kitchen wonderfully inviting! A gas fireplace, flat panel TV (complete with Windows Media Center enhancements) and a game table make the living room the center of the action when skiing is done. A full stairway leads from the living room to the upper floor which houses the 2nd master and the roof top deck. Outside, on the deck, is a wonderful hot tub, a couple of chairs and table great for soaking in the breathtaking views!

Throughout the home is a music system allowing a huge array of internet music (through Rhapsody) with controls for each of the home's zones (one of which is the hot tub, so you are never without tunes!). It appears that no detail has been overlooked, as has been the case with the other LUSSO homes we have visited.

Just a short walk off the deck (or out the ski room) leads you to the Roundabout trail and Lumberjack lift. (The property is easy to ski in to, but ski out is a bit of a trick, but it is actually possible.) The mountain is full of terrain for all abilities of skiers, and even offers several "terrain parks" for snowboarders. The main Village houses just about every type of retail establishment (for those last minute items you forgot to pack!), restaurants, bars and a Starbucks (an absolute necessity in my mind!). On the far side of the mountain are the East Village and the "Tubing Zone"; complete with its own moving carpet-type lift to transport tubes and tubers without effort!

From Eagle/Vail airport, Copper Mountain is just a quick 45 min.-1 hour trip, depending on weather. The only variable is Vail Pass, and whether or not the weather will dictate closure or chains. It did snow pretty heavily the day and night prior to our departure, yet the pass remained open. The roads were quite icy in places, and only one lane was actually what I would consider "cleared", however, we experienced no problems. All in all, I would highly recommend the Eagle/Vail airport, as the small size makes it much more convenient, especially if traveling with a family!

We did rent a car for the week, but parked it in the garage and used the Navigator for our trips into Frisco (10 minutes east on I-70) and Silverthorne during our stay. There is a wide assortment of restaurants and shops in Frisco; one that we particularly enjoyed was "The Boatyard". Breckenridge offers a multitude of window shopping and enough variety to please any "foodie"... but we chose to stay a little closer to home this trip!
