The second largest destination club, measured by number of members, has a couple of new programs that enable potential members to try out the club.

Both of these programs offer complementary stays courtesy of Ultimate Escapes. In both cases the trips are available to “qualified” potential members. To make sure these members are serious about looking into joining the club they need to register with the club and have a 30 minute personal online “Preview Tour” with one of the clubs membership directors.

Los Cabos
The first offer is to spend a three-night stay in one of Ultimates very best Los Cabos homes, with full trip planning and concierge services.

Ultimate Collection
The second offer is two nights at any of 130 hotels in the Ultimate Collection. These are worldwide partner hotels that Ultimate members can use as part of the nights in their membership plan.

In addition to the Ultimate Collection, Ultimate Escapes 1,300 members can use 140 multi-million-dollar vacation residences in 50 popular destinations.

This trial program and a somewhat similar trial program from Exclusive Resorts are partly a reflection of the state of the economy, since destination clubs have rarely offered trial usage in the past. As I note on the Exclusive article, this is a great way to try out a club and fully experience it to see if it’s right for you and your family.
